SCARLETT LACY

"An abstract comic based on the poem 'Mapping the Genome' by Michael Symmons. The poem likens geneticists to topographers, mapping out with great difficulty human DNA in an attempt to find the ancestral secrets that explain our instincts and evolution. This comic portrays the beauty of these unseen parts of nature, but also raises questions surrounding the accessibility of science ; knowledge is often gate-kept and made deliberately inaccessible, and this comic partly aims to highlight the confusion and frustration felt by those simply trying to understand the world around us."
