LOANE BOBILLIER
"A range of fragile sculptures using plaster and wax, combining both elements to create a stronger surface whilst keeping the ethereal quality of the translucence of the wax and the pale white tones of the plaster. Inspired by Diana Al-Hadid's gravity defying and decaying forms; the barely there appearance of a cube suggests at a life once lived and the beauty of decay and death that comes with the passage of life. As I explore the theme of identity through nature and nurture psychology, using the shape of a cube as the symbol of a blank canvas that evolves into different forms as it is conflicted with its environment. An apocalyptic and ambiguous form emerges from the ground as you view "Barely Made It"."
