ELI MCCARTHY–WRIGHT
“When I observe anything - whether that be imagery, life, art - I view it in colour and form. Not because they are easy categories to file visual information, but because this bold reading of frank visual language is arguably the easiest and oldest form of communi-cation. I find colours, shapes and patterns highly emotive; I suppose that’s because I’m a storyteller who likes to hand my message on a plate and feed it to a blindfolded individual. I work to tell a story whilst selfishly teasing the truth through code. Recently, that code has been depicted through the “highly strange” and “ultra garish”.”
