“This project explores how a contemporary art space could be understood as a spellground - an environment where art and magic may coincide.
A spellground is a term I use to describe an exhibition site in which the work displayed has been enchanted by the artist to project a certain intention, feeling or desire upon its audience, and/or a space in which the work becomes activated through performance or ritual. It may require the artist to be a potential magical conduit, but this presence may also be felt through the work alone.”
